Mobile Data Posting

Mobile User lives/works in area with cellular coverage

  • As the User enters data the system frequently stores it on the handset file system.
  • When the User indicates they have completed data entry the system marks the data as "ready to be posted".
  • When "ready to be posted" data exists in the file system the system will attempt to post it to the Server asynchronously using GPRS/https.
  • If the handset is not in range of a cellular tower; or if an internet connection with the Server cannot be established; or if the connection is dropped; or if a timeout error occurs; or if anything else happens that keeps the data from being successfully transmitted; the data will remain safely on the handset and the system will attempt to post it later.
  • When the Server confirms receipt of the data the system purges the data from the handset file system.

Mobile User lives/works in area without cellular coverage

  • Since no connection is possible with the Server, the data remains on the handset file system.
  • When another traveling User visits they can use the Bluetooth™ module to place the data on the other handset for subsequent posting as a proxy.
